Richard Leal has been handling criminal cases since 1994, when he began his legal carrer as a DUI and misdemeanor prosecutor at the State Attorney for Hillsborough County, Florida.  Rising through the ranks, he worked in the various felony divisions prosecuting sex crimes, child abuse, homicides, and other major crimes, and becoming the deputy chief of a felony division.  After several years of experience, he was promoted to chief of the misdemeanor and trafffic division, where he supervised the prosecution of every DUI, traffic, and misdemeanor case in the Hillsborough County courts.

Mr. Leal began working in the private sector in 2001 at one of the top criminal defense firms in the county.  Five years later, he opened his own practice, and for the last ten years he has dedicated himself to achieving the best possible results for his clients and then sealing or expunging their records whenever possible.
